TOEM 2 on Nintendo Switch
Steam: Windows, Mac, and Linux
The Steam release is one app covering three operating systems — Windows, Mac, and Linux — under a single purchase. Valve's verification program has certified it Steam Deck Verified, which breaks down into four passed checks: the default controller config is fully functional, controller glyphs match the Deck's hardware, the interface text is legible on the small screen, and the default configuration performs well.
In practice the Deck is treated as a first-class platform, not a hopeful compatibility flag, and the Steam launch discount applied across every operating system in the store.
Language support is part of the platform picture too. The Steam page lists twelve interface and subtitle languages — English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese-Brazil, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Swedish, Traditional Chinese, and Ukrainian — all with subtitles and none with full audio dubs.
Nintendo Switch 1 & 2
Nintendo's listing covers both console generations with one purchase, and the official Nintendo launch trailer names both systems in the same line: "Play TOEM 2 now on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch." Both revisions share the same September 29, 2026 release date, and nothing in the official listings limits features to one hardware revision or to a single play mode.
Nintendo says players who own the game on Switch can receive the corresponding version on the other platform with a 100% owner discount. Save data does not transfer between the Switch and Switch 2 versions.
The listing supports TV, tabletop, and handheld modes. It reports file sizes of 564 MB for Nintendo Switch and 601 MB for Nintendo Switch 2, and lists Save Data Cloud through Nintendo Switch Online.
PlayStation 5
The PS5 version is a single current-generation release, confirmed live on day one by PlayStation's own launch trailer caption: "TOEM 2 is OUT NOW on PS5!" No PS4, PS5 Pro-specific, or VR version appears in official materials.
The PlayStation Store showed a 4.93/5 average from 76 ratings, with 97% five-star ratings, when checked September 30, 2026. Ratings change as players add reviews.
What is not on the list
Xbox has no announced TOEM 2 version. The official Xbox Store lists the 2021 TOEM for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, but that platform history does not confirm a sequel release. GOG and the Epic Games Store have not been confirmed either — the official site's store buttons name Steam, PS5, and Switch 1 & 2.
Choosing between them
No platform-exclusive content appears anywhere in the official materials, and every version ships at the same pace. The practical differences are where your library lives and how you like to play: Steam for desktop setups and the Deck, Switch for handheld or TV sessions, PS5 for the PlayStation ecosystem.
One more input for the choice: the twelve-language subtitle support travels with the Steam build, so shared-language households and importing players have the same text options on PC. Console stores present language availability per their own regional listings.
